Answers to Your Most Common Questions

At Grandma Lucy Child Care, we strive to provide clarity and transparency in every step of the childcare process. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions from parents. If you have any further inquiries, feel free to reach out to us!

We prioritize the safety of your child by implementing a comprehensive safety system. This includes background checks for all staff, a secure facility with safety gates and childproof locks, emergency preparedness protocols, and regular safety drills. Our facilities are equipped with a fire extinguisher, first aid kits, and a security system to protect your child.

At Grandma Lucy Child Care, we work closely with families to create

personalized care plans for children with special needs. These plans include

tailored activities, dietary adjustments, and support for developmental

milestones. Our trained staff is experienced in providing specialized care to

children with varying needs.

Our staff is highly trained and qualified, with each member completing annual professional development courses in early childhood education and child safety. In addition to certifications in CPR and first aid, our team members are passionate about providing loving, individualized care to every child.

Each day is structured around a balance of play, learning, and rest. Children participate in a mix of outdoor play, story time, arts and crafts, group activities, and quiet time. Our goal is to provide a stimulating environment that helps children grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

We welcome parents to visit at any time during our operating hours. We believe in open communication and want you to feel involved in your child’s day. However, we encourage you to schedule longer meetings or discussions in advance to ensure quality time for your child without distractions.

We provide healthy meals and snacks in accordance with the USDA Food Program guidelines. All food is carefully planned to meet children’s nutritional needs, and we accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions. Parents are encouraged to notify us of any specific dietary needs upon enrollment.

We use positive guidance techniques to encourage good behavior, focusing on redirection, praise, and reinforcing positive actions. Our staff is trained to use developmentally appropriate methods for managing behavior, and we work with families to ensure consistency in approach.

Enrollment begins with filling out a registration form, submitting necessary documentation such as immunization records, and providing information on any special needs or preferences. Once all paperwork is complete, we schedule an introductory visit for both child and parent to meet our staff and familiarize themselves with the environment.

In case of an emergency, we follow a strict protocol, which includes immediately contacting emergency services and the child’s parents. Our staff is trained in CPR and first aid, and we have a well-stocked first aid kit on hand at all times. Any injuries or medical incidents are documented, and parents are notified immediately.

If your child will be absent or late, please notify us as soon as possible. We ask that you provide a notice at least 24 hours in advance for planned absences. For emergencies or illness, we appreciate timely communication so we can adjust care accordingly.
